SWITCHOVER TO PREPAID ELECTRICITY METERS

Eskom, the chief electricity provider, is moving to prepaid meters.  The city has been switching over to these in Edgemead for more than a year and at no cost to the home owner.  The city is doing this free of charge in all city-supplied areas.

You can take up this option or you can refuse it, but bear in mind it will become mandatory to have a meter and you will have to have your own installed at your own cost, or you will need to apply to stay on a free flow meter and be charged on a higher tariff.
